Isn't it sad...

...when the most exciting thing I have to write about in alomst two weeks is that I stumbled across Apple Cinnamon Pop Tarts for sale at Meijer last night. I thought they didn't exist anymore. They were always one of my favorite flavors, but I thought they had stopped making them because I hadn't seen them for sale anywhere in a long, long time. But, as I was doing some late-night grocery shopping last night, what should I find bu Apple Cinnamon Pop Tarts....Whoooo-hoooo!

Yup, I'm a big slacker....

The trip to Saginaw was good. I was there from Tuesday afternoon until Saturday afternoon. Not much to tell really, just spent some time with my family and a few of my friends who still live there. I had to break the news to my parents that I am moving in July or August. They aren't very pleased about the idea. They see me only a few times a year with me living just over 170 miles away, I think they think that they will see me once every few years if I live a couple thousand miles away. Well, sure, they're right, I have no intention of visiting often, but I would be back once in awhile. I have it narrowed down to Portland, Sacramento and Memphis. They said they would rather I stay on this side of the Mississippi and would prefer that I move south instead of west. But I am leaning toward west rather than south.

I did finally get my birthday presents while I was in town. My parents got me a dvd player. My bestest friend got me a set of Marx Brothers movies (5 of their very early ones, they kick ass!).

One of my best friends lives out in Montana. He and his girlfriend (who I have not actually met yet) are going to Detroit for Thanksgiving. So, I'll get to see them and that makes me happy.

Roadtrip!

I'm heading out in an hour or so for a long trip to Saginaw. I haven't been there since April or May. I'm on vacation this week, so I figured I would head up for a few days. I'll probably be back on Thursday or Friday, depends on how quickly I get sick of that town. I'm so fucking lowcash though, pretty much every cent I have is going into my car in the form of oil and gas just so I can make the trip. Hope I can borrow some money when I get there. Anyway, I'll be back in a few days....maybe when I get back I'll get around to posting more on I.R. Critic. I have half of a review written for the one that I wanted to publish last week....I'm such a damn slacker...not like it matters since nobody reads it anyway (not even Odysseus).

This story is totally fucked up.

So, I found a pair of shoes that I didn't even know I had. I have been wanting a new pair of red cons for the last few weeks. Little did I realize that I had some all along and just forgetten about them.

Not much to report other than that, eh....

Don't Blame Ohio!

Well, the election results are all in now. Bush wins, eh. We shouldn't blame Ohio though. They were just the last big state to be counted, if Kerry had won more of the small states he could have pulled it off. It's sad that Kerry couldn't even take North Carolina and that's the homestate of his damn running mate. I think it boiled down to people have more faith in Bush being able to stop terrorism. Granted, some of the other factors were abortion rights, gay marriage and healthcare, but I think the terrorism shit is what put Bush over the top.I just don't think the election really mattered that much anyway. The Republicans still own the House and the Senate. Kerry's hands would have been all but tied until that changed. And, quite honestly, the only thing good I saw in Kerry is that he is not Bush. I didn't see anything from Kerry that would have made me happy to see him as the next president. To be fair, I really don't have anything against Bush in particular. He's not bright enough to be dangerous. The danger comes from the people around him like Cheney and Ashcroft. Seeing those two out of the White House would have been the biggest benefit had Kerry won.

In other news: I still hate my job. I still haven't found a new/second job. I have narrowed my "cities I may potentially move to" list down to

1. Portland, OR
2. Memphis, TN
3. Cincinnati, OH
4. Louisville, KY
5. Knoxville, TN
6. St. Louis, MO
7. Nashville, TN
8. Austin, TX
9. Sacramento, CA

Those are in no particular order....I just need a reason to choose one over the others. They all have their pros and cons. The biggest pro for each of them is that it would be outside of Kalamazoo and outside of Michigan. Damn do I need some change of scenery.

Have I Found My Spot?

I found a site called FindYourSpot.com. It's supposed to, based on eight pages of questions, give you a list of cities that would possibly be good for you...here's my list, eh:

  1. Cincinnati, OH
  2. Knoxville, TN
  3. Oklahoma City, OK
  4. Charlotte, NC
  5. Seattle, WA
  6. Norfolk, VA
  7. Louisville, KY
  8. Richmond, VA
  9. El Paso, TX
  10. Nashville, TN
  11. Chesapeake-Virginia Beach, VA
  12. St. Louis, MO
  13. Fort Worth, TX
  14. Charleston, SC
  15. Memphis, TN
  16. Lexington, KY
  17. Omaha, NE
  18. Indianapolis, IN
  19. Jacksonville, FL
  20. Hickory, NC
  21. Austin, TX
  22. San Antonio, TX
  23. Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN
  24. Toledo, OH

Several of those sound good....I'm surprised that Portland didn't show up on the list. I don't know that I could live in Texas, but I know UT-Austin has a great ancient philosophy program. My no-or-next-to-no snow policy makes numbers 23 and 24 out. It should make #1 out too, but I think I can handle the amount of snow Cincy gets especially since the Reds are my favorite team and I would get to see them play all the fucking time if I lived there. Hickory, NC is out simply because I have never even heard of it. Jacksonville is out because I couldn't live in FL. I think I have to drop Oklahoma City and Omaha out too just because I couldn't live in OK or NE. So, that drops it down to about a dozen choices. Any suggestions?
